Women’s Artistic 2023 Rule Change
Please read the following Rule change carefully.
Following the changes to the classic Challenge Championship rules from British Gymnastics dated the 02nd May 23. Specifically, to the addition of the Tin Level, the Northwest committee have made the following amendments to the rules involving 2-piece Gymnasts.
For 2023 only, gymnasts who have already competed at the northwest floor and vault 2-piece will be able to enter the Paul Reay Teams & the Northwest Classic Challenge at Tin Level. If a gymnast chooses to compete at either the Paul Reay team Competition or 4-piece Classic Challenge, they are not then eligible to compete at 2-piece competitions moving forward.(Drop back rules on p13 of Northwest competition handbook apply 2024)
The Northwest committee published their handbook in Feb 2023 and subsequently could not have been aware of the change to the Classic Challenge rule regarding the addition of the Tin Level. Therefore, we understand that if this level had existed, coaches may not have entered gymnasts into the Northwest 2-piece competition, this is why for 2023 the rule above will apply for 2-piece gymnasts.
