Congratulations to Reuben and Jake

Reuben Ward became the Commonwealth Champion in the Men’s Artistic Gymnastics All-Round Competition this summer and then followed it up with a Silver on the Pommel Horse, beating a World and Olympic Champion in the process.

Reuben, 21, who trains at Manchester Academy of Gymnastics in Salford, was supported by his Scottish teammates and his personal coach Jake Seager, who was part of the Scotland coaching team for the Commonwealth Games.

Not only are we proud of their achievements, but we are especially proud of the way they dealt with the excitement of home crowd support, the pressure to perform, the media attention, and the way they dealt with both triumph and narrowly missing out on other medals. For those who have known Jake and Reuben from very young ages, it is great to see them getting the rewards all their hard work deserves.
